Murdah Bongz banned from attending AKA’s funeral

The Forbes family have revealed in a statement, that the husband of DJ Zinhle, Bongani “Murdah Bongz or Mörda” Mohosana, will NOT be part of the memorial and funeral service.
This is to observe and respect cultural protocol.

The details of AKA’s memorial service and funeral service have been revealed by his family through his Instagram account.

Acknowledging the outpouring love they have received so far from friends, family and supporters of the Fela In Versace hitmaker, they extended an invite to everyone who wishes to attend and witness the celebration of his life.

“We as the Forbes family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days. Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as a family but by the nation,” they wrote in part.

They continued by saying they would like to celebrate his life with everyone who loved him, “…his memorial will therefore be open to the public as well as streamed online.”

“Kiernan will be laid to rest in a private provincial funeral on Saturday, 18 February 2023.”

In the same statement, they revealed that Murdah Bongz will not be part of the services because they wish to observe cultural protocol. They thanked him and his family for all the support they have given them.

“We’d also like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosana’s for their unwavering support during this time, As Bongani Mohosana will be in absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol.”

They then added that AKA’s father Tony Forbes will be giving out a public statement to the media at 3PM as he is appointed at the official family spokesperson.
